Aqui no Brasil pescamos com uma armadilha dessa, só pega peixe de couro tipo bagre, essa tua armadilha com peixe vai ficar muito pesada e não se consegue tirar de dentro da água…mas seu vídeo é bom.

yes these work flawlessly. pioneers use to put them under small waterfalls. These work like a funnel. As the fish swim, if one swims into the large end, the funnel herds the fish from the larger end through the smaller end, and into the reservoir. Once the fish swim down the funnel into the reservoir, the fish cant line themselves straight enough to swim back out. Small fish can swim out, large fish cannot. Cut the top of a plastic water bottle, invert it and put it back into the bottle. put it into a shallow lake and in an hour it will be filled with minnows you can use for bait.

Also, if I'm lost in the wilderness by a stream or body of water, the last thing on my mind will be the fishing laws. In fact I would HOPE and PRAY some forest ranger stumbled across me. I'd welcome the citation!

Thanks for the great videos guys! Just a thought- rather than making the wreath thing to reduce the size of the opening, maybe you could just pull the vines a bit tighter while you're making the top section so it narrows back down again. That would probably save you a bit of weight too.

Hey Josh, I love the design and its ability to be used not only as a trap but a pack as well. Awesome job! One thing Ive noticed on weaving vids is the starter row is called twining because they almost invariably us twin to start the weave. If you have a little extra paracord or bankline you might want to use it for the first 5 or so wraps then go to the vines. Thats not criticism by any means, just an observation. Again, great job brother!

Rob, would soaking the vines(the ones you are weaving) over night or longer make the job of weaving easier and quicker? or would it create some kind of problem with the materials/vines?

Epic is definitely a good description. The concept is basic to understand and the function seems 100% Anyone doubting this method obviously doesn't know jack shit about survival, or even how fish work for that matter. Thanks for sharing knowledge as always Rob, lots of us DO appreciate the knowledge. Hope all the D-bags never deter you.

I wish these channels that make fish traps, snares, etc. would show their stuff in action. It's cool to make them but what's the point unless they actually work?

I know you boys aren't basket weavers by trade, though this is a great show, but I'd like to suggest drying your materials, then soaking them until pliable. This ensures that you do not get any breakage and that it's more likely you won't get mold, etc. Hope that's helpful to someone 🙂
